WELCOME one and all to the Queer/LGBTI Department website! We're part of the Student Representative Council, and it's our job to support and represent all students on campus who are queer - that is, people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, genderqueer, etc.
SESSION 2 2009 MEETINGS: There are three regular meetings running in the Queer Space in session 2, Weeks 1-12:
- Queer Collective (Mixed): 4-6PM Wednesdays
- Queer Girls: 1.30-3.30PM Mondays
- Queer Boys: 3-5PM Tuesdays
QUEER PRIDE WEEK: Week 7 is Queer Pride Week!
Monday
12-1: Centrelink and Queers, Quad 1001
1.30-3.30: Queer Girls, Queer Space
6-8: Coming Out by Fairy Light, Queer Space
Tuesday
11-2: Out and Proud Picnic, Library Lawn
3-5: Queer Boys, Queer Space
Wednesday
11-1: Sex Workshops, Blockhouse - Girls in Training Room 1, Level 1; Boys in Training Room 2, Level 1.
4-6: Queer Collective (Mixed), Queer Space
7-late: Dinner and night out, Newtown (call rory 0408 115 330 on the night to find out where we are!)
Thursday
11-12: Tenancy Rights and Queers, Quad 1001
Friday
8-late: "Back to School" Party, Queer Space
THE QUEER SPACE: The Queer Space is room 920 on level 9 of the Chemical Sciences building (Map Reference F10). Just turn right when you exit the elevators, and then right again and it's at the end of the hallway on the right. It's open during scheduled meetings and events.
Outside of these times, during business hours, you can sign out a key from the Arc Reception, on the Ground Floor of the Blockhouse (Map Reference G6) - just ask for the "Q" key.
The Space is a safe space for all students who are queer, questioning or queer-friendly. It has safer sex supplies, information supplies, couches, a fridge, kettle, sandwich maker, and a phone. There's also UniWide reception, so you can get the Internet up there on your laptop, mobile phone, etc. Check out the map:

FACEBOOK: We've got two Facebook groups - one mixed group and one just for the girls. They're both "secret" groups, so they don't turn up on your profile and you can't search for them. To join, e-mail queer@arc.unsw.edu.au and ask to be invited.
